Hi, I'm Donovan McCloskey.
I was born in Indiana and spent most of my time growing up in Zionsville, IN. I graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Informatics with a focus in business. After graduating, I spent 11 months traveling around the world to 11 countries on a trip called The World Race and this was the beginning of my photography and videography experience. I bought my first camera before I left and captured everything I encountered, trying to highlight the most compelling stories around me.
Because of the stories I captured on my journey, I was recruited for a documentary project to tell the story of the South Sudan refugee crisis. So, for 3 months in 2018 I lived in a refugee camp in northern Uganda capturing the stories of refugees with a small team of 8 fellow videographers. I took the skills I had developed as a solo film maker from The World Race and brought that to a team that was focused on telling the untold story of the worst humanitarian crisis since World War 2.
After Uganda I accepted a job with First Presbyterian Church of Orlando as their digital storyteller. As soon as I came on, I began to help craft the visual identity of the church and provide opportunities for this congregation to share their story. For the next three years I was an integral part of the creative team as we've saw a church wide re-brand, leadership changes, and the challenges of navigating a world wide pandemic.
After spending three years in Orlando, my wife and I relocated to South Carolina to be closer to family. I then joined RingoFire, a full-service marketing agency based in Greenville that specializes in the home improvement sector, as a Content Creator. From the beginning, I had the opportunity to work with major brands such as Serta, Husky, Lowe's, GearWrench, and The National Hardware Show.
Initially hired as a Videographer/Photographer, I have since advanced to the role of Associate Creative Director over the past three years. In this position, I oversee the entire production team. Every video and photo production project that RingoFire has executed in the past two years has been under my direction. I am grateful for the amazing team and the opportunities we have shared and look forward to my next adventure!
